From where the designation comes:
ABQ test does not have to do anything with the Canadian teacher training and the "Additional basic Qualification". It’s exclusively derived from the letters of the alphabet. The three letters a, b and q are used world-wide most frequently with aptitude tests by flying students, who apply for test preparatory courses to the ATP license.

Test run:
The candidate receives a printed paper with a letter matrix. From this letters he has to cross out all searched letters (mostly a, b and q) within a certain time. Since then more and more qualification tests use the aid of computers, different variants of ABQ-Tests become known. Thus there are tests not only with Roman characters but also with Greek, Cyrillic or pictograms. Also there are tests without allowed time, the testing must decide whether the test is finished. The necessary time flows then into the result also.

Goal of the test:
The rehearsing has to place its concentration ability and attention under stress conditions under proof. All surveying and wrongly crossed out letter affect the result negatively.
